Junior group coaching sessions at Space 2 Ace:
At Space 2 Ace, we offer fun and engaging tennis groups for everyone. We teach children basic tennis skills, from movements and coordination to racket skills, closely monitoring progress and giving constructive feedback to ensure progression. There are four stages of Mini Tennis; Tots, Red, Orange and Green – each with their own court size and ball-type. This tailored approach enables players to develop vital skills and techniques at an early age.
Below are short intros into our sessions but please feel free to contact us for more information.
Tots Tennis - Mini Tennis Tots is a programme specially designed for children aged three to five years old which enables them to learn the basics of tennis. It encourages them to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities based on the fundamental areas of balance, co-ordination, agility, movement and hand-eye coordination.
Mini Red - Mini Tennis Red is a programme for players aged eight and under. Players learn to serve, rally and score with a slow ball, as well as learning the movement and coordination skills required for tennis. Players are encouraged to take part in fun competitions, both in teams and as individuals, with short matches using tie-break scoring.
Mini Orange - Mini Tennis Orange is a great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Red, and is aimed at players aged eight and nine. Players develop a more rounded game by learning a range of techniques and tactics. Courts are bigger and wider than the Mini Tennis Red stage, but still smaller than full-size tennis courts. There are team and individual competitions with matches using tie-break scoring.
Mini Green - Mini Tennis Green is a great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Orange, and is for children aged nine and 10. Players can now put their technique and skills into practice on a full size court with a faster ball which will help to develop all aspects of their game. There are also individual and team competitions, with scoring extended to short sets.
Yellow Ball - This is an introduction to adult tennis using adult balls on a full sized tennis court. Players can now play full sets instead of short sets and continue to improve their game.
